                                                                                                           Behind the label

                                                                                                                                                  A fine balance:

Colourbrigade has a simple philosophy …

"The belief in the magic of the ordinary"

We bring to you the earthy essentials for your wardrobe, allowing you to reflect your own original style.

The life of the product is like the wheel of life, "from creation to decomposition to creation" without

leaving a trace behind. The fibre we grow is untouched by pesticides and is coloured with authentic

natural dyes. We make sure to provide extreme attention to tiny details like by using natural products

for stitching threads, labels or any trims. This ensures the safe disposal of the product without harming

the environment when its life cycle ends.

We believe that one does not have to give up the material world to be spiritual or give up the standards

of living to save the environment, there is a middle way, a balance and this is what our products are about -

creating a fine balance between the past and the present by combining contemporary designs and keeping

alive the forgotten craft; bringing together modernity with age old methodology.

                                                                                                                   For the curious mind:

Cotton, now also known as organic cotton:

Pesticides are one of the biggest source of pollution. India was introduced to pesticides not more than

50 years ago! Until recently all fibre and food that was produced, was grown ‘organically’.  We at

Colourbrigade ensure using natural fibres which are grown without the use of chemical pesticides.

          Natural dyes:

Till the middle of 19th century all dyes known to man were made of natural substances extracted mainly

from plants and insects. We ensure that the entire process is natural including the raw material used and

the dyeing process that is incorporated. Moreover, even the waste water is neutralized before disposing it

off in the ground so that it causes least possible harm to the environment. Each product is hand dyed.

Colourbrigade promote the small scale artisans and helps in keeping alive the forgotten craft.

         Wear-ability:

The combination of organic fibre and natural dyes makes the clothing a perfect wear for the skin and to the

                environment.

         Product:

Our clothing is hand dyed; any unevenness or colour variation should be treated as an added aesthetic

               value.

         Product Care:

Wash separate, in cold water; use mild green detergent, dry in shade. Iron if required, but knowing that

              it’s not green to iron.:)

we hope you enjoy the product as much as we do to create it!!!
